Bona Chitah has a Bachelors and Master of Arts in Economics from The University of Zambia. He also has PhD in Economics (UNZA), a Postgraduate Diploma General Management (Maastricht School of Business), a Postgraduate Diploma Health Systems; Health Care in Developing Countries (Karolisnka/Uppsala Universities, Sweden) and a Fellowship in Public Health (Harvard School of Public Health).

His teaching interests are in processes of development of economics, the study of the structure of economic growth and development vis-à-vis markets. Markets, pricing and output, structure, growth, development, health economics, evaluation and health markets; health care financing; behavior and health outcomes, epidemiology and health, health care cost containment.
