Biography
Million Phiri is a Lecturer in Demography and Monitoring and Evaluation at the University of Zambia, with over 12 years of experience in research, data analysis, and evaluation. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation Methods from Stellenbosch University, a Bachelor of Arts and Master’s of Arts degree in Population Studies from the University of Zambia, and a PhD in Demography and Population Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand. He has contributed to research and M&E assignments for public and private sector organisations, UNICEF, UNFPA, AfDB, and World Bank-supported projects. His research interests include population and health, maternal and child health, contraception and family planning, sexual and reproductive health, fertility dynamics and childhood nutrition. He serves on the editorial boards of BMC Public Health, Discover Reproduction, PLOS ONE, and other reputable international journals. He has published extensively on contraception and family planning, fertility dynamics, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, and childhood nutrition.
