Biography

Dr. Chisanga Kaluba is a structural engineer, academic and researcher in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Zambia. He has over 10 years of experience in university teaching, research and consulting. He holds a PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of Cape Town, an MEng in Structural Engineering from Tongji University, China, and a BEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Zambia. His doctoral research focused on the influence of symmetry on the stability behaviour of plane and space frames.
His principal research interests are in structural mechanics, particularly structural stability, vibrations, thin-walled sections, computational methods and group theory. His broader interests include the analysis and design of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber structures.
